The bell on the bike goes ding ding ding
I did it. I bicycled in to work today. I left home at 6:45 and got to work at 7:38. At my desk and ready to work by 7:55. I took the reverse of this route.

thats impressive. I am going to attempt to bike to work when the weather is consistently warm....probably taking the same route with a small diversion.

Perhaps I'll test out how long it takes after work today.

Did you really go on 169? Valley View connects with Gleason, so going home you can go Valley View -> Gleason -> Vernon -> 50th Street.

Valley View is very twisty and hilly though.

No way! If you zoom in far enough you can see that I was on McAuley Trail. That's sort of a frontage road for 169 which is probably why it's in the route description.

OK, that should have been McCauley Trail. I dropped a C somehow.

That's a scary route - lots of traffic alternating with winding roads with narrow shoulders. It's pretty direct, though - less than 9 miles. Congratulations on getting going with that so early in the season! I just took my second ride of the season, and still finding it pretty exhausting. I think I went almost 8 miles this time.

That's a scary route

It wasn't too bad. The worst spots were where it crosses over Hwy. 100 and the part where Vernon curves and you're suddenly on Gleason. I'd biked the 50th St./Vernon Ave. section a few times before back when I worked at United Health Group so I knew what to expect there. The winding roads with narrow shoulders weren't really bad at all because the traffic was so light. I am thinking that in the future instead of taking 50th all that way that I might go on the north side of Lake Harriet and take 44th as far as I can. I suspect that will have a lot less traffic.
